Mocamar is pronounced mo-CA-mar. The name brings together two meanings that share the same origin: the sea.
“Mocama” refers to the Atlantic coastal dialect spoken by the Timucua people who lived along the northern Florida coast at the time of European arrival (around 1562). Historically, Mocama translates to “the ocean” or “from the ocean.”
“Mar” is Spanish for sea and reflects the founder’s roots, growing up on the coast of Catalonia in Calella, Spain. Mocamar treats the sea not as a symbol, but as an origin point - a place that has connected people, materials, and trade for centuries, and that now carries the consequences of modern consumption.

Our primary material is PA6 filament derived from end-of-life fishing nets. Some objects are made entirely from this material, while others combine it with recycled PLA or recycled PETG where specific functional or structural properties are required. We work with suppliers that provide traceable, recycled material streams. All final products will be clearly labeled with their exact material composition.

Our objects are designed, developed, and planned to be produced in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Production is based on additive manufacturing and hand assembly, allowing for close quality control and short supply chains. This approach prioritizes consistency, repairability, and long-term responsibility over mass production.

The objects shown on this website represent finalized design directions and working prototypes. Instead of immediate purchasing, we’re offering a curated preview and an early-access waitlist. Some details are still being finalized. Approximate dimensions and material compositions are shown to give a clear sense of scale, form, and intent. Final specifications may vary slightly before production begins. Any confirmed details will be clearly stated before ordering opens.

We’re currently finalizing our first production pieces. Ordering is expected to open in June 2026, once development is complete, and specifications are confirmed. Waitlist members will be notified first.

Currently, we ship within the US only. We tested international shipping and found that products often didn't deliver, and when they did, costs were prohibitively high for customers. We're working to find reliable international shipping solutions and hope to expand beyond the US in the future.

For standard made-to-order pieces, delivery is estimated at approximately 7-10 days from order confirmation.
For early-access or pre-order releases, lead times extend to four weeks, depending on production stage and batch size. Estimated timelines will always be communicated clearly before ordering.

Our objects are made to be used daily. Clean surfaces gently with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Always unplug electrical components before cleaning. Detailed care instructions will be included with every product.
What warranty will your products have?

The Mangrove comes with a 5-year limited warranty on the LED bulb and electrical components.
The lamp base and shade are covered by a 2-year limited warranty against material or manufacturing defects under normal use. If a covered issue occurs, we will repair or replace the affected part. If repair is not possible, we will replace the lamp.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, improper handling, modifications, misuse, exposure to unsuitable conditions or normal wear over time.
The Mocamar Loop
After the warranty period, your lamp can still return to us through the Mocamar Loop.
Send the piece back, and we will evaluate whether parts can be repaired, reused or responsibly processed. In return, you receive a 25% credit toward your next Mocamar purchase.
This is our way of keeping materials in motion instead of treating a damaged object as the end of the story.

We use UL-listed electrical components from trusted American suppliers, including U.S.-made electrical parts and a U.S.-sourced LED bulb.
Each lamp is assembled with care and tested before shipping. We describe the safety status of the components clearly and do not claim certification for the full lamp beyond what has been tested and listed by the component manufacturers.

We package orders with efficiency and the environment in mind. Here's how to dispose of each material:
Cardboard and Kraft Paper: Our boxes and kraft paper filling are 100% recyclable. Break down boxes and place in your recycling bin.
Packaging Peanuts: Our biodegradable packing peanuts are plant-based and compostable. They'll dissolve in water - you can literally run them under the tap and watch them disappear, or add them to your compost.
Textiles: We use unbleached, recycled cotton to protect components during transit. Please reuse these bags - they're perfect for storage, travel, or gifting.

Return policies will apply once products are commercially released.
In general: returns will be accepted within 30 days after delivery. Products must be unused, undamaged, and returned in original packaging. Installed or modified products won’t be eligible for return. Full return terms will be published before ordering opens.
